About the Radiant Cut

The radiant cut bridges the emerald and the round brilliant: it has the trimmed-corner rectangular outline of an emerald cut but a brilliant-style faceting pattern of around 70 facets that delivers intense sparkle. This combination makes the radiant exceptionally lively while hiding inclusions and colour better than step cuts, allowing buyers to consider slightly lower clarity and colour grades for excellent value. Radiants are offered as square (ratio near 1.00) or rectangular (ratio 1.20–1.50). Anand Exports cuts radiant diamonds to maximise brilliance and yield, GIA certified.

  • Length-to-width ratio (square): 1.00 – 1.05
  • Length-to-width ratio (rectangular): 1.20 – 1.50
  • Facet count: ~70
  • Key benefit: Hides inclusions & colour

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a radiant cut diamond?

A radiant cut is a rectangular or square diamond with cropped corners and a brilliant faceting pattern of about 70 facets, combining the shape of an emerald cut with the sparkle of a round.

Is a radiant cut better at hiding inclusions?

Yes. The brilliant faceting of a radiant scatters light and masks inclusions and body colour far better than step cuts, so slightly lower clarity and colour grades can still look excellent.

What is the difference between a radiant and a princess cut?

Both are brilliant-faceted, but a radiant has cropped (trimmed) corners while a princess has sharp pointed corners. The radiant's clipped corners make it more durable against chipping.
